More about Babysense II
Why Babysense™ II ?
During the first year of life, infants can experience irregular breathing
patterns or even stop breathing completely. No one really knows why. It
can happen to any baby, premature or full-term, healthy or not. But there
are a number of precautions parents can take:
-
Do not smoke in baby's environment
-
Lie the baby on his/her back
-
Do not overheat baby's environment and
use the Babysense™ II Breathing and Movement
Monitor.
Babysense™ II has the proof of over 10
years' experience in private homes and hospitals.
Babysense™ II has been in use for tens of
thousands of infants and has helped saved lives.
Simple to use, Babysense alerts you with an alarm if
baby's breathing becomes abnormally slow or if breathing and motion stop.
These could be signs of Central Apnea. Babysense can also alert when
these signs indicate a cold, high fever, or other illness.
How Babysense™ II Works
Babysense constantly senses and responds to baby's breathing and movement.
Breathing motions trigger the flash of a conforting green light. If baby
stops breathing for more than 20 seconds or if the breathing rate drops
below 10 breaths a minute a loud alarm is sounded, warning the parents of
a potentially dangerous situation.
Simple Configuration, Now Safer Than Ever
Babysense™ II includes two sensor panels which fit under the mattress.
Monitoring is done without touching the baby. The sensors are connected to
a small, battery operated control unit clipped to the side of baby's bed.
There is no connection to any electrical outlet.
Important tips:
- Babysense does not replace parent or caretakers. It is an attention-calling device, a parent’s aid. It cannot solve all problems, it cannot actively take action. It can only call our attention if it registers a problem.
- No monitor or device cancels or calls you to ignore safety guidelines for your baby, such as: Sleeping on his back, never over-heating his room, never smoking around him, firm bedding material (care with blankets and suffocating hazards)
- Always conduct self-test of Babysense regularly, even before every use, certainly whenever you change location or setup.
